Botanical family Cistaceae
Latin name: Cistus ladaniferus
Essential oil obtained by distillation of twigs and leaves
From controlled organic farming: inspection BE-BIO-01
This Mediterranean shrub with white flowers produces an essential oil that is unmistakable by its aroma and viscosity. Its composition is surprisingly complex, since almost all families of aromatic molecules are represented.
See the sheet on 100% essential oil (below).
It is through dilution that cistus best reveals all its complexity. In its pure state, it first reveals intense and rather dry woody notes. The warmer, sweeter, brighter, even floral notes then emerge. This aromatic progressiveness is consistent with the emotional action of the EO. Very marked by the "fire" element, cistus instantly warms up when one feels emotionally drained after a traumatic event. To recover, to pull oneself together: one finds the quality of "contraction" which is the mark of this essential oil in all its fields of application. Then, the calmed and refocused mind redeploys itself, making itself available for meditation and visualisation. The physiological changes follow the same trajectory: first an impression of tightness, like a cauterisation at the first contact with this principle of fire, then a wide opening of the respiratory system and a stimulation of the circulatory flows, and finally the disappearance of all tension in the places where it manifests itself, like the solar plexus.
Pass the ball applicator over the inner sides of the wrists, rub the wrists together, bring them up to the level of the nostrils and breathe in the aroma several times deeply. Later on, you can apply it to other entry points: hollows of the elbows, solar plexus, neck and nape of the neck, soles of the feet.
