A small plant from southern Europe that likes cool, sunny areas. It grows in clumps at altitudes of up to a thousand metres and produces pretty bell-shaped flowers. Its leaves give off a delicate lemon scent when crushed. This very fine aroma characterises all this essential oil.

Our opinion
This is a precious essential oil in more ways than one, as it takes four tons of plants to obtain 650 grams. If its price sometimes limits its use, think of its diluted form which does not take away much from its class!
Precautions for use
Not recommended in the first trimester of pregnancy or in young children.
Irritant in its pure state: make sure to dilute it sufficiently for skin use.
Risk of allergy (limonene, linalool, citronnellol, citral, geraniol, iso-eugenol): take care not to overdose in mixtures. An elbow test is recommended prior to any skin application (min 48 hours before use).
