It is used as a mask in a homogeneous paste, alone or mixed with other plant powders for a complete treatment adapted to your hair type.
Prepare your natural henna
Place the henna pure or mixed with other plant powders in a large bowl, then gradually pour warm water over your mixture until you obtain a smooth, homogeneous paste. Use a wooden spatula to mix or a “Maryse” spatula.
Quantities to use
- Short hair: +/- 25g of powder
- Mid-length hair (shoulders): +/- 50g of powder
- Long hair (half back): +/- 75g of powder
- Very long hair (hips): +/- 100g of powder
Application of the henna
The application will be different if you want to make a hair mask (care) or a vegetable colour.
For a treatment mask:
Apply your treatment strand by strand to dry, unwashed hair, leave on for about twenty minutes, rinse with your usual shampoo.
For pre-colouring or colouring (with other colouring powders):
Apply henna strand by strand to unwashed hair. Wrap the hair in cling film and leave on for 1 to 6 hours. The longer you leave it on, the more intense the colour will be.
Rinse the hair thoroughly until the mask is completely removed, rinsing only with water, without shampooing.
Wait at least 48-72 hours before shampooing for the colour to develop.
The final colour result will only be visible two to three days after application, while the colour oxidises.
Beauty tip
If your hair is very dry, dull, dehydrated or damaged, add a tablespoon of argan, olive or coconut oil to your mixture.
