There are several species of lavandin, hybrids of true lavender and spike lavender. Lavandin super is the closest hybrid to true lavender. You can therefore use it for the same indications, with some nuances.
It is likely to be most effective in relieving muscle cramps and contractures. It is an essential ingredient of massage oils in combination with, for example, basil and tarragon essential oils. However, it has retained a high content of camphor (borneone) and 1.8 cineole from its aspic parent. Its aroma, more bitter, is affected by this. Therefore, prefer true lavender - and especially fine lavender - for an optimal action on emotional balance.
