Java Citronella, native to Indonesia, is an herb with very long stems, commonly used in cooking for its lemony taste and aroma. It is used fresh and cut into thin slices. The distillation of its aerial parts gives an essential oil with characteristic notes.

Of all the citronellas, this variety, which originates from Indonesia, has the greatest molecular richness, since it contains, not surprisingly, citronnellal, but also monoterpenols, with geraniol and citronnellol at the top of the list, esters, monoterpenes... and a hint of eugenol. The fine balance between terpene aldehydes and monoterpenols is noteworthy.

Aromatherapy

External use

  • Relaxing and soothing, promotes joint and muscle flexibility.
  • Helps care for skin prone to itching or redness.
  • When diffused, it helps repel insects and contributes to air purification.

Cosmetics

External use

  • Soothing, helps care for skin prone to pimples.
  • Adds a fresh, lemony note to body care products and helps reduce body odour.

The typical Citronella accent is present, but the monoterpenols add vigour and the geraniol offers its characteristic pinkish note. The hint of eugenol (clove note) is as discreet as it is effective. This Java Citronella is anything but monotonous: you will appreciate its relaxing properties on both an emotional and physical level.
