This tree grows in Australia, South-East Asia, South America and Madagascar. It likes warm and luminous areas. The distillation of its leaves produces an essential oil that is unmistakably reminiscent of Citronella, but is not.

Essential oil rich in citronnellal, a terpene aldehyde with lemony notes and calming and relaxing properties. It also contains some monoterpenols, but is very different from Eucalyptus radiata and Eucalyptus globulus, as it does not contain 1.8 cineole (eucalyptol) at all.
