Clary Sage

Clary Sage

An aromatic plant with a thick, square stem and rough, hairy leaves. Its pinkish-white and violet flowers, on the other hand, are fine and delicate. It grows in the sunny areas of southern Europe and has been used since antiquity. Its essential oil, much sought after by perfumers, offers floral, amber and musky aromas.

Its essential oil is very similar to that of fine lavender, although their odours are quite distinct: it contains the same ester - linalyl acetate - in large quantities, monoterpenols, sesquiterpenes. It does not contain ketones like sage essential oil, which removes any physiological toxicity. This French origin guarantees the necessary and sufficient presence of sclareol, the constituent at the origin of the hormone-mimetic action.

Amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, menstrual pain, menopausal discomfort: clary sage essential oil is appreciated for its "hormone-like" properties. It is relaxing and antispasmodic. Alone or in combination, for example with palmarosa EO, it regulates perspiration. In a hair lotion, mask or neutral shampoo, it helps combat hair loss. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should preferably avoid it.

The characteristic aroma of Clary Sage EO - sweet, persistent, musky - gives it an important role in olfactotherapy. It effectively relieves all nervous tension while revealing the most unsuspected potentialities of the mind. The most sensitive may feel euphoria at its contact, others drowsiness. It opens to self-confidence and creativity. It favours dreams and dreams of which one keeps a precise memory. With its unique animal touch, its aphrodisiac action will be appreciated by women, but also by men in their feminine part. Always faithful to its deep and introspective character, the erotic climate it is capable of inspiring will summon romance and fantasy! The dream, always...
