Hemlock

This "hemlock" from Canada is really not "just another softwood". This is revealed by a surprisingly complex biochemistry: monoterpenes of course (little limonene this time), but also esters (more than 30%), monoterpenols, ketones, sesquiterpenes...

The general characteristics of the essential oils of abietaceae are found here but the strong presence of esters (more than 30% bornyl acetate) introduces a principle of balance and harmony, these molecules correcting all forms of dystonia of the autonomic nervous system. This essential oil can be used to combat various respiratory ailments accompanied by spasms and mucous congestion. Used locally, it soothes muscular and articular pains.

This essential oil supports people whose nervous weakness and low self-esteem lead them to compulsive and addictive behaviours (to food, tobacco, drugs) and helps them to take a step back from their own weaknesses and not to be carried away by them into states of nervous breakdown or even panic. It helps people at the end of their lives to accept the coming passage.
