A large herb native to Asia that has been used for thousands of years. Hemp is a very generous plant, cultivated for its leaves, fruits, oil seeds, fibres and resin. Its vegetable oil is used in cooking and cosmetics. Its fibres are valued for their strength in the manufacture of various materials. The distillation of its leaves produces an essential oil, free of cannabinoids, with typical herbaceous aromas.
