Wild Carrot

Wild Carrot

This large wild carrot, with its white root, grows in fields and uncultivated areas. A biennial plant from our regions, this species is less well known than its cultivated variant, but thus has the double advantage of being organic and ... wild to be precise. Its essential oil has a slightly earthy, woody and intense smell.

Ideal for skin care, organic wild carrot essential oil is reputed to preserve the youthfulness of the epidermis, prevent the appearance of wrinkles and lighten the complexion. It can be used in home anti-ageing treatments but also in the care of skins with imperfections, with a tendency to redness or pigmentation spots for its revitalising and repairing action.

The wild version is less well known than its cultivated variant, but has the double advantage of being organic... and wild precisely. It is the sesquiterpene specific to carrots, daucene, that takes the lion's share of the credit here. Carotol, on the other hand, is much more discreet than in the biochemistry of the cultivated carrot. This "loss" is partially compensated by a better representation of the other sesquiterpenol, daucol.

Overall, it is not impossible to attribute to it properties identical to those, well known, of the cultivated carrot in terms of drainage and regeneration of the liver. Its action in cosmetic aromatherapy is also noteworthy: its decongesting and regenerating power applies more specifically to sensitive skin, but also to mature skin, skin with a tendency to redness, mixed skin, oily skin or skin with imperfections.

The above summary is given for information only: it is a synthesis of the properties described in recognised aromatherapy books and/or in accordance with ancestral and popular traditions. It is in no way a medical information or a list of indications.

The essential oil of wild carrot has a somewhat earthy and less bitter smell than its cultivated equivalent. An essential oil of regeneration, it is also psycho-emotional. It will help an insecure individual to find within himself all the resources necessary for his reconstruction. The wild character of the plant seems to us a definite advantage in this particular context. In the wild, this beautiful herb, which can grow up to 1 metre high, is not afraid to assert itself! The internal route (also in culinary aromatherapy) reveals pleasant surprises: the first impression reveals a great familiarity of taste with the carrot itself. Then there are hints of pear. Conclusion: much more interesting than it seems at first sight.
