Skin and sun

Skin and sun

We dream of sun on our skin all year round! If the benefits of the sun on our body have been proven, we must know how to take advantage of it without putting our skin in danger! Before sunbathing on the sand or in a field of wheat, find out how to prepare your skin for the first rays, soothe it in case of sunburn and tan naturally. A file to read in the shade, of course ;) Step 1: Prepare your skin for the sun Tip 1: Fill up on carotenoids! As soon as the first rays of sunshine appear, we offer our skin a diet rich in carotenoids with organic carrot macerate or organic sea buckthorn vegetable oil (to be used diluted in a more neutral oil such as jojoba or apricot kernel oil). While nourishing the skin, these antioxidant-rich oils will preserve the skin from premature ageing linked to free radicals and will promote the synthesis of melanin and a beautiful tanned complexion, thanks to their richness in beta-carotene. Summer Ritual : - replace your day and/or night care with organic carrot macerate or a care oil formulated with carrot macerate and vegetable oils adapted to your skin type (jojoba, calendula, sesame, borage, evening primrose...) - add one drop of organic sea buckthorn vegetable oil to your face cream - make a body oil rich in carrot macerate, to prepare the skin for tanning and to prolong it Sun Preparation Body oil Carrot macerate for tanning, illuminating apricot oil and softening sweet almond vegetable oil: this care oil nourishes, smoothes and prepares the skin for the sun. It can also be used as a tan-extending oil. Ingredients: Organic apricot vegetable oil - 50 ml Organic sweet almond oil - 30 ml Organic carrot oil macerate - 20 ml Directed by : Mix all the oils in a 100 ml amber glass bottle, shake, it's ready! Apply the oil to your skin after a shower, while it is still very slightly damp. Wait a little while before getting dressed, as the carrot macerate can leave orange traces on your clothes. Conservation : Your recipe will keep for 6 months in a dark place. Tip 2: Moisturise your skin In the heat, the skin tends to become dehydrated, it loses its elasticity, fine lines appear and it can even take on a "parchment" appearance. Remember to drink at least 1.5L of water a day, it's a piece of advice that is constantly repeated, but the skin's primary hydration comes from within! Apply organic aloe vera gel, moisturiser or body lotion regularly to dehydrated areas of the body and face. Alternating with a vegetable oil is ideal! Summer Ritual : - To moisturise your face, apply the Gentle Balance Cream morning and/or evening. For an even more hydrating action, you can enrich your cream with the active ingredients urea or hyaluronic acid. - spread your body with our neutral body milk, its soft and light formula is suitable for the most sensitive skins. Tip 3: Scrub regularly To promote an even tan, think of scrubs that eliminate dead cells and impurities and thus promote a beautiful tan. For your homemade scrubs, always choose vegetable and biodegradable exfoliants that are safe for aquatic ecosystems. Apricot kernel, olive or sweet almond powders: the choice is yours! Summer Ritual : - exfoliate once a week, followed by the application of a care oil or moisturising milk Step 2: Protecting your skin from the sun - Never expose yourself to the sun without appropriate sun protection that respects your skin and nature. - Wear a hat and light, covering clothing in bright sunlight, especially if you have fair skin and are sensitive to the sun. - Children under 3 should never be exposed to direct sunlight as their skin is thin and fragile. So get out hats, bobsleighs, light and covering clothes, parasols, beach tents and so on to protect them! Step 3: Soothe the skin in case of sunburn When the skin is overheated, apply aloe vera gel as soon as possible to calm the burning sensation, soothe the redness and promote skin regeneration. Also consider organic lavender essential oil, known for its soothing and repairing properties in the event of sunburn. St. John's wort oily macerate, well known to herbalists, will also be of great help after prolonged exposure (however, be careful not to expose yourself to the sun within 12 hours of its application as it is photosensitising). Our best natural solutions to soothe sunburn: - apply aloe vera gel fresh from the refrigerator to the heated area - make a natural home-made after-sun oil (see recipe below) - spray soothing organic hydrosols such as peppermint, chamomile or fine lavender (recipe below) - place a cotton pad in the freezer to cool, then apply a tablespoon of St. John's wort oil to the sunburned area Mix three drops of lavender aspic or ylang-ylang essential oil in a teaspoon of cider vinegar, dilute in a litre of cold water, then soak a towel with the mixture and place it on the sunburn Recipe - Soothing After Sun oil with calendula With its very gentle formula, rich in calendula macerate with soothing properties and St. John's wort macerate, traditionally used against burns, this care product soothes and regenerates the skin after long exposure to the sun and in case of sunburn.
