Like all Eucalyptus trees, it is very resistant to external aggression. It is recognisable by its long, greyish-green, hanging leaves, which are prized by koalas and even form a large part of their diet. Its essential oil is well known: fresh and airy, it also has a slightly lemony note.

Our opinion

An essential oil that is not used enough for our taste! Its place is between Eucalyptus radiata, always the "gentlest", and Eucalyptus globulus, sometimes a little too direct. And, associated with Scots Pine, they will form a beautiful duo.

Note

Do not confuse the essential oils of Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus smithii and Eucalyptus globulus, which have different cineole contents. The mildest of the three is Eucalyptus radiata.

Precautions for use

Not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 6 years of age, without medical advice.
Contraindicated in patients with epilepsy or a history of seizures.
Not recommended for asthmatics (especially for inhalation or diffusion).
Cineole essential oils should not be used in asthmatics as a first line of treatment without medical advice.
Due to its cineole content, there is a known risk of drug interaction: do not administer orally without medical advice if you are taking medication.
Not for oral use in case of heartburn.
Always use by the skin.
Risk of allergy (limonene): take care not to overdose in mixtures. An elbow test is recommended prior to any skin application (min 48 hours before use).
Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid contact with the eyes.
Store away from heat and light.
