Organic Katrafay (or katafray) essential oil

Small tree endemic to the dry and arid regions of western Madagascar, with very hard wood and large, fragrant leaves. Its cracked bark, grey, green and orange in colour, is traditionally used by the Malagasy in strips, assembled in the form of balls. Recently used, its essential oil is original: woody and slightly spicy, soft and enveloping.

Quality Botanical family: Rutaceae Latin name: Cedrelopsis grevei Origin: Madagascar Cultivation: Controlled organic agriculture - Certisys-BE1 control Part used: Bark Production process: Steam distillation Quality: 100% pure, natural, integral and chemotyped Olfactory notes: balsamic, woody, sweet Main constituents Sesquiterpenes: ishwarane (26%), alpha-copaene Our opinion Unlike the sesquiterpenes of Myrrh or Copahu, extracted from the oleoresin, here the "bark" producing organ imposes its mark. A fine example of an aromatic identity linked to wood. Very promising on all levels, this essential oil is carried by a solid personality that is somewhat reminiscent of Atlas Cedar. Precautions for use Not to be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women or children under 6 years of age. For external use only, in the form of occasional applications and without excess. Risk of allergy (limonene): take care not to overdose in mixtures. An elbow test is recommended prior to any skin application (min 48 hours before use). Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with the eyes. Store away from heat and light.
