Virgin coconut oil is extracted by pressing fresh nuts. Its pleasant, fruit-like smell is proof that it is not coconut oil, which is obtained from dried nuts. Coconut oil has a milky appearance. It has a tendency to set quite quickly, but holding the bottle in your hands is usually enough to restore its fluid consistency.
