    Organic matricaria essential oil

    1 reviews

A small, common plant that grows along roadsides and is commonly cultivated in Europe and Western Asia. Known and used in ancient times and considered a sacred plant in Germanic and Nordic mythology, it colours the landscape with its white flowers with a yellow heart. Its deep blue essential oil offers herbaceous and honeyed aromas, tinged with a slight bitterness.

Quality Botanical family: Asteraceae Latin name: Matricaria chamomilla (Matricaria recutita) Other names: German chamomile, blue chamomile, scented mayweed Origin: Balkans, France Cultivation: Controlled organic agriculture - Certisys-BE1 control Distilled part: Flowering aerial part Production process: Steam distillation Quality: 100% pure, natural and chemotyped Olfactory notes: herbaceous, honeyed, slightly fruity and bitter Main constituents Sesquiterpenes: beta-farnesene (40%), chamazulene (3.8%) Sesquiterpene oxides: alpha-bisabolol oxides Sesquiterpenols: alpha-bisabolol (5%) Note Do not confuse it with Wild Chamomile, Ormenis mixta, or Moroccan Chamomile; or with Roman Chamomile or Noble Chamomile, Chamaemelum nobile. Another possible confusion is with the essential oil of Annual Tansy, Tanacetum annuum, sometimes also called Moroccan Chamomile or Blue Chamomile. Our opinion One of the few "blue" essential oils in the repertoire, with bluish-green nuances due to the presence of chamazulene. Precautions for use Not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women or children under 7 years of age. Very well tolerated: no significant risk at physiological doses. Caution in case of previous allergy to Matricaria or other plants of the Asteraceae family. Do a test at the elbow before the very first use. Theoretical risk of hormone-like action, caution in case of hormone-dependent pathology. Avoid contact with the eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat and light.
