Theobroma cacao Product from controlled organic farming, inspection BE-BIO-01 Active ingredient This pure cocoa butter is rich in fatty acids, polyphenols, natural vitamin E. It is a nourishing and softening active ingredient. It is suitable for the care of dry, "tight", mature and wrinkled skin. Cocoa butter is hard at room temperature. It is therefore best used as a balm or as an ingredient in an emulsion. Balm: melt a variable amount of cocoa butter, up to 80%, in vegetable oil heated in a bain-marie. It is easy to combine with anti-ageing plant oils such as argan, rose hip or jojoba. Mix the two ingredients well and allow to cool. You can add up to 0.2% vitamin E (tocopherol). Emulsion: melt up to 5% of cocoa butter in the oil phase. In the past, cocoa butter was also used as a basis for making suppositories. However, this natural basis is still valid. In this case, it is useful to have a suppository mould. A recipe for a regenerating and healing lip balm Many variations of this recipe exist. This one will give you a powerfully moisturising and healing balm with a pleasantly fruity aroma. Ingredients for 15 ml : Mango butter: 3g ("g" = grams) Organic shea butter: 2g organic cocoa butter: 1g organic apricot kernel oil: 3g organic rosehip oil: 2g white beeswax: 1g vitamin E: 2 drops of organic sweet orange oil: 2 drops of organic cistus essential oil: Material: A 250 ml beaker (with a spout for easy filling of the sticks) A mini whisk A scale (the molecular scale if you have one, but a simple kitchen scale is fine) Optional: a thermometer to check the temperature of the water (between 62 and 65° C) 3 lip sticks with 5 ml capacity each Properly sanitise equipment with alcohol. Preparation: Place the mango butter, cocoa butter, shea butter and beeswax in the beaker. Heat the beaker in a water bath: the beaker must be in contact with the hot water without being in contact with the container that contains it - the temperature of the water will be between 62 and 65° C, the temperature necessary for the beeswax to melt. When the 3 ingredients have melted, add the apricot kernel and rosehip oils. Add vitamin E and essential oils. Mix all the ingredients well with the mini whisk. Divide the mixture between the three sticks and leave to cool. Our packaging: 100% biodegradable - Compostable.
