Quality Botanical family: Lauraceae Latin name: Litsea cubeba or Litsea citrata Other names: Exotic verbena, Yunnan verbena, Tropical verbena Origin: China Cultivation: Controlled organic agriculture - Certisys-BE1 control Distilled part: Fruit Production process: Steam distillation Quality: 100% pure, natural and chemotyped - food grade Olfactory notes: lemony, fruity Main constituents Terpene aldehydes: citrals (63%) Monoterpenes: limonene (14%) Remarks Do not confuse it with Lemon Verbena or Sweet Verbena, Aloysia citriodora. Moreover, the Chinese origin of this essential oil contains almost 15% limonene, an ingredient that moderates the irritant potential of citrals in case of prolonged use. Our opinion A great classic of citrus notes, for a democratic price! You can use it alone or in combination, preferably with other essences or essential oils with a fruity identity, such as sweet orange or mandarin. Precautions for use This essential oil is pure and therefore powerful. This essential oil can be used in cooking if it is diluted beforehand according to the recommendations, dispersed in a fat (oil, dairy), alcoholic or syrupy substance (honey, syrup). It cannot be ingested pure. Do not use during pregnancy or breast-feeding, nor for young children. This essential oil has a tendency to irritate when used pure, so be sure to dilute it sufficiently for skin use. Avoid contact with the eyes. Risk of allergy (limonene, linalool, geraniol and citral): take care not to overdose in mixtures. An elbow test is recommended prior to any skin application (min 48 hours before use). Keep out of reach of children.
